Ôm con mùi Mẹ tỏa ra

Thoảng chút hương đời con hể hả
Mẹ còn giữ một mùi dân dã như rơm
Đời con lận đận áo cơm
Mẹ là áo gấm, tám thơm, nồi đồng
Đời con mỏi gối chồn chân
Lạ thay Mẹ vẫn thơm mầm lộc non
Con mấy mặt con
Vẫn ngỡ mình bé dại
Vì nhà ta còn mùi Mẹ, mùi Bà
Mùi Bà – mùi cái vú da
Mùi cau trầu với mùi hoa mẹ trồng
Mẹ ơi
Mẹ mới đó
Bốn mùa mặc áo the thâm
Sao nỡ vội già không trẻ mãi
Để vãn buổi chợ chiều tất bật đi mau
Vì biết cháu chờ gói kẹo cau đùm trong lá chuối
Ôi cục kẹo cau có hương bưởi hương ngâu
Có con cu kêu đầu hồi để thời gian qua chi vội
Bây giờ tội nghiệp Mẹ tôi
Tám mươi ba tuổi xếp đôi cánh cò
Mùi của Mẹ quanh co giường chiếu
Mùi trần ai khô kiệt xác thân
Mùi da xương bên ướt Mẹ nằm
Để cả đời bên ráo con lăn
Khuya nay quỳ xuống ôm chân
Mẹ ơi đã lạnh toàn thân...Mất rồi!
Cây cau già ngoài sân chết đứng
Ngọn trầu không héo úng rụng rời
Gió khóc ngoài giậu mồng tơi
Tre trúc quờ quạng tìm hơi Mẹ già
Mẹ hiền đi chuyến chợ xa
Mùi Mẹ cánh Hạc bay ra cõi Trời
Con thành đứa trẻ mồ côi
Lặng chiều nhang khói tìm hơi Mẹ hiền!
