PETITION TO THE ACADEMY OF MOTION PICTURE ARTS AND SCIENCES

Re: Objection to the Selection of the Film “Red Rain” as Vietnam’s Official Submission for the 98th Academy Awards

To the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences,

We respectfully submit this petition to express our deep concern and strong objection to the selection of the Vietnamese film Red Rain as Vietnam’s official submission to the Academy Awards, which claims to be “based on true events” from the 81-day battle of Quảng Trị in the summer of 1972.

We understand that cinema has the right to creative expression. However, Red Rain has gone far beyond the limits of artistic license by distorting historical truth and glorifying acts of aggression.

The film reverses the very nature of the war — brazenly twisting modern history and using cinema as a tool to disguise and romanticize the brutal and unlawful invasion carried out by the North Vietnamese communist forces against the Republic of Vietnam, a sovereign nation recognized by the international community.

The twenty-year invasion (1955–1975) in truth revealed the steadfast defensive strength of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) and its American allies — demonstrated through countless acts of courage, honor, and humanitarian conduct toward captured communist soldiers.

The filmmakers, however, have fabricated grotesque and baseless scenes, such as “burning prisoners alive,” which have no historical foundation and instead reflect the extreme and deceptive propaganda characteristic of the North Vietnamese communist regime.

This act not only violates truth itself but deeply insults the honor, the blood, and the tears of the South Vietnamese and American soldiers who fought and sacrificed their lives to defend South Vietnam against communist invasion.

It is a profound affront to our collective memory, to those who died for freedom, and to all generations who continue to defend historical truth against distortion.

The Battle of Quảng Trị was a tragic and complex chapter in Vietnam’s history, one that brought heavy civilian losses and environmental destruction.
To romanticize such a bloody offensive as a “symbol of noble sacrifice” is misleading, insensitive, and a betrayal of historical truth.

In the spirit of truth, humanity, and artistic responsibility, we earnestly urge the Academy to reconsider the eligibility of Red Rain for Oscar recognition.
The Academy has long been a global symbol of conscience, integrity, and the highest standards of cinematic art — and we trust that you will continue to uphold those values.

Why This Matters

This petition is not about politics — it is about truth, integrity, and respect for history.

When art is used to distort reality and glorify violence, it ceases to be art and becomes propaganda.

We stand for the countless lives lost, the families torn apart, and the memory of those who defended freedom and human dignity.

We, the undersigned, respectfully call on the Academy to:

Reject the film “Red Rain” from Oscar consideration.
Uphold the principles of truth and artistic integrity that the Academy represents.
Honor the memory of all who sacrificed for freedom and truth during the Vietnam War.

V/v: Phản đối việc chọn phim “Mưa Đỏ” đại diện Việt Nam dự tranh Giải Oscar lần thứ 98

Kính gửi Viện Hàn lâm Khoa học và Nghệ thuật Điện ảnh Hoa Kỳ,

Chúng tôi trân trọng gửi đến quý Viện thư kiến nghị này để bày tỏ quan ngại sâu sắc và phản đối mạnh mẽ việc phim Việt Nam Mưa Đỏ được chọn gửi tranh giải Oscar, với tuyên bố rằng phim “dựa trên sự kiện có thật” trong trận chiến 81 ngày đêm tại Thành cổ Quảng Trị, mùa hè năm 1972.

Chúng tôi hiểu điện ảnh có quyền sáng tạo, nhưng Mưa Đỏ đã vượt quá mọi giới hạn của nghệ thuật khi bóp méo sự thật lịch sử và ca ngợi hành vi xâm lược.

Phim đảo ngược bản chất của cuộc chiến, trân tráo xuyên tạc lịch sử hiện đại, dùng phim ảnh để phù phép biến cuộc tấn công tàn bạo và phi pháp của lực lượng cộng sản Bắc Việt chống lại VNCH, một quốc gia có chủ quyền được quốc tế công nhận. Cuộc xâm lăng kéo dài 20 năm (1955-1975) thật sự đã biểu dương khả năng “phòng thủ” kiên cường của Quân Lực Việt Nam Cộng Hòa cùng đồng minh Hoa Kỳ, qua vô số hình ảnh đáng ngưỡng mộ trong cách đối xử nhân đạo với bộ đội Việt cộng khi sa cơ.

Nhóm làm phim đã “bịa đặt trắng trợn” những cảnh dã man, như “đốt sống tù binh”, hoàn toàn mang bản chất tuyên truyền lừa bịp cực đoan của Cộng sản Bắc Việt.

Hành động này không chỉ xúc phạm sự thật, mà còn xúc phạm đến danh dự, máu và nước mắt của những người lính Việt Nam Cộng Hòa và Hoa Kỳ đã chiến đấu và hy sinh để bảo vệ miền Nam Việt Nam trước cuộc xâm lăng của Cộng sản Bắc Việt. Đó là một sự xúc phạm sâu sắc đối với ký ức tập thể, với những người đã ngã xuống cho tự do, và đối với các thế hệ vẫn đang nỗ lực bảo vệ sự thật lịch sử khỏi bị bóp méo.

Trận chiến Quảng Trị là một chương bi thương và phức tạp trong lịch sử Việt Nam, gây ra tổn thất nặng nề cho dân thường và tàn phá môi sinh. Việc lãng mạn hóa một cuộc tấn công đẫm máu ấy như một “biểu tượng hy sinh cao cả” là sai lệch, vô cảm, và phản bội sự thật lịch sử.

Với tinh thần tôn trọng chân lý, nhân đạo và trách nhiệm nghệ thuật, chúng tôi khẩn thiết đề nghị Viện Hàn Lâm xem xét lại tư cách ứng cử của phim Mưa Đỏ. Viện Hàn Lâm từ lâu đã là biểu tượng của lương tri, của sự chính trực và của chuẩn mực nghệ thuật cao nhất trong điện ảnh thế giới — và chúng tôi tin tưởng quý vị sẽ tiếp tục bảo vệ những giá trị ấy.

Cuối tuần, tôi đứng trước gương xum xoe cái áo mới, hí hửng định đi chơi với chàng thì bà chị nhắn tin sang bảo cần soạn thảo bản kiến nghị gấp. Tôi càu nhàu trong lòng, “bên này đang là cuối tuần mà… not a working day.” 

Chàng thấy tôi đứng ngẩn ra giữa phòng thay đồ, nhíu mày hỏi:
– Ai làm vợ anh nhăn nhó vậy? 😂

Tôi chìa phone ra cho chàng xem tin nhắn. Chàng lướt mắt vài dòng, chỉ khẽ bật cười một tiếng rất ư là bất đắc dĩ rồi lắc đầu. Thấy chàng quay đi, tưởng là hờn vợ, thì giọng chàng vẳng lên từ cầu thang:
– Change of plans…

Cất lại cái áo vào tủ, tôi vừa đi xuống vừa nghĩ cách bù đắp cho chàng vì date plan bị “đánh cắp” bởi nhiệm vụ bất ngờ. Xuống tới nhà dưới, hương trà thoang thoảng đã lan ra từ bếp. Trên kitchen counter, laptop đã được mở sẵn.

Chàng kg nói gì thêm. Chỉ rót trà ra tách, đặt cạnh chỗ tôi hay ngồi làm việc rồi kéo ghế ngồi xuống bên cạnh với chiếc iPad trong tay. Thỉnh thoảng, lại bóp nhẹ vai cho tôi đỡ mỏi, kg một lời trách móc hay than phiền, chỉ đồng hành lặng lẽ… ❤️

Cuối tuần lẽ ra dành cho phố xá, ánh đèn và bữa tối lãng mạn thì lại hóa thành tôi bên laptop gõ phím, chàng bên bình trà, và giữa chúng tôi là một bản kiến nghị đang dần thành hình.

Tin nhắn gửi đi, anh dân biểu phản hồi: “Got it. Mai văn phòng gửi thư chính thức cho em.”

Tôi gửi bài cho chị để proofread bản tiếng Việt. Ngồi trong không gian yên tĩnh, lén nhìn chàng, bất ngờ hôn trộm chàng thay cho lời cám ơn.

…Và rồi tôi nhận ra, có lẽ chính những buổi tối tưởng như “đi chơi bất thành” như thế này mới là những tối đáng nhớ nhất. Kg váy áo lộng lẫy, kg ánh đèn phố xá, chỉ có tiếng gõ phím xen giữa mùi trà nóng và bàn tay quen thuộc bóp nhẹ vai mình.

Vì thời gian gấp rút, vì trách nhiệm với sự thật lịch sử, và vì sự tôn trọng dành cho các vị cha anh, chú bác VNCH đã đánh đổi xương máu để bảo vệ miền Nam xanh màu lúa mạ, bản kiến nghị này kg chỉ là một văn bản. Nó là tiếng nói của ký ức và của bao thế hệ, là lòng trung thực, và là niềm tin sâu sắc rằng sự thật luôn xứng đáng được bảo vệ.

The Match They Fear and the Empire That Burns

They built an empire out of rot and shadows, convinced it would stand forever. They believed no one would ever dare strike a match. Then he showed up.

He’s blowing up cartel shipping routes, not slowing them down, not playing games, but obliterating the arteries that feed their criminal empires. Every shipment stopped is a blood vein cut. He’s sealing the doors they used to sneak people through, choking off human smugglers, dismantling the networks that trade in men, women, and children like cargo. Each move saves lives. Each strike tears through another layer of their business of misery.

He’s not just chasing criminals. He’s cutting off the money that keeps them alive, smashing the pipelines that launder blood cash and shutting down the black markets that fuel chaos. He’s starving the machine, and worse, exposing it. Once light hits the rot, no amount of propaganda can hide what’s crawling underneath.

That’s why they hate him. He’s dragging their filth into daylight where everyone can see it. The lies they built their power on can’t survive once he pulls the curtain away. Half of Washington is waist-deep in the muck, doing the cartels’ dirty work, laundering blood money, shielding their operations, and pretending to serve the people. They’re not public servants; they’re errand boys for criminals. He’s not merely disrupting their deals; he’s dismantling their network, brick by rotten brick.

The most twisted part is how they’ve managed to turn the most gullible segment of the population against him for doing the very things they claim to care about. The easily manipulated, the loud but uninformed, the ones who swallow whatever they’re fed and call it wisdom — these are the people they’ve trained to hate him for all the wrong reasons. They cheer for traffickers and terrorists, confuse lawlessness with freedom, and defend corruption as if it were justice. They’ve politicized reality itself and painted the man standing in the way of all that filth as the villain simply because he exposes them.

Even those who once risked their lives to fight human trafficking now defend the very monsters who commit the crimes. They justify the violence, excuse the horror, and still believe they’re on the “right side.” If that isn’t the peak of pathetic stupidity, it’s proof of how deep the decay runs — proof that people can become loyal defenders of evil while believing they’re fighting for good.

Since 2025, coordinated crackdowns under his policies have turned that action into measurable change. Thousands of human traffickers have been arrested. Record-high seizures of cartel shipments along the southern border have crippled criminal operations. Terror financing pipelines once thought untouchable have been severed, drying up billions in funding that fueled global chaos. Entire trafficking networks that thrived for decades have been dismantled, and thousands of victims have been freed from the grip of criminal syndicates. These aren’t promises, they’re proof.

The hypocrisy runs deeper still. People who once swore they’d fight communism to their dying breath are now cozying up to it, simply because he stands against it. Some even defend the Chinese Communist regime, the very power that has been a sworn enemy of the Vietnamese people for over a thousand years, just because he dares to confront it. Their hatred of him is so blind, so consuming, that they would rather side with a hostile power than admit he’s right. Principles vanish. Convictions rot. Hypocrisy isn’t a flaw anymore; it’s their entire identity.

The shockwaves go far beyond America. He’s exposing the weakness, cowardice, and staggering incompetence of those who dare to call themselves “world leaders.” The pompous bureaucrats of the so-called “Union of Europe,” bloated with self-importance but powerless without America’s spine. The self-serving parasites in the “United Nations.” All those polished speeches and hollow gestures collapse once he peels back the layers and reveals what they really are: useless, compromised, and terrified. Their “global leadership” is a mask, and he’s unmasking it piece by piece.

He ended wars they swore could never end. He dragged sworn enemies to the table and forced peace where they promised only endless conflict. He shattered the business model built on blood, chaos, and perpetual war, the one that filled the pockets of defense contractors, bought influence in Washington, and justified decades of corruption. He was the first U.S. president in decades not to start a new war. Under his watch, ISIS was crushed and its territorial caliphate wiped off the map. He brokered historic peace deals in the Middle East, known as the Abraham Accords, bringing together nations the world said would never sit at the same table. He even stepped into North Korea, forcing talks between bitter enemies when globalists had only delivered empty speeches. They hate him for that too, because peace strips away their power, cuts off their profit, and proves their “inevitable conflicts” were never inevitable at all, only convenient.

Globalists are humiliated by his presence. He makes them look like absolute clowns. Their carefully crafted speeches, staged summits, and fake “world order” posturing crumble before a man they cannot control. They hide behind buzzwords and empty declarations, but he exposes their impotence and shatters their illusions of power. Every time he speaks, he drags their polished image into the dirt where it belongs. When he signed the Abraham Accords, bringing peace to the Middle East, they stood by looking exactly like what they are: powerless, bitter, and irrelevant. Their faces said it all. The man they swore could never do it did it without them, and they hate him for proving how useless they’ve always been.

While they spent decades telling us why peace was impossible, he simply did it. While they lectured the world about human rights, he dismantled trafficking networks and brought thousands of victims home. While they wrote checks to fund proxy wars, he cut off terror financing with crippling sanctions and forced rogue regimes to the negotiating table. And while they spent years chasing photo ops, he walked straight into North Korea, proving that leadership isn’t about talk, it’s about action.

To keep the illusion alive, they unleashed their loudest, dirtiest weapon: the media. 24/7, nonstop, year after year, it howls like a pack of rabid dogs. Every headline, every panel, every scripted rage segment is designed to poison minds and bury the truth. They don’t inform; they perform. They repeat the same lies until they sound like facts, manufacture outrage out of thin air, and build an entire industry around destroying one man. They shriek that he’s a threat to “democracy” while defending terrorists and traffickers. They warn that he’s “divisive” while celebrating chaos in the streets. They call him “dangerous” for ending wars and creating peace, because peace kills their narrative and exposes how little they’ve ever done. And yet, after all that noise, he’s still standing. The harder they scream, the clearer it becomes who’s really terrified of the truth.

This isn’t politics. It’s exposure. It’s the tearing away of masks built on lies, the stripping of power from leaders who rule through fear and manipulation, and the undeniable proof of how easily a society can be trained to defend its own destruction. That’s why they want him gone. He is proof that their empire isn’t invincible. It’s cracking, and once it breaks, it will never come back together again.

Truth has always been the most dangerous weapon, and the most beautiful. It doesn’t shout. It doesn’t need to. It stands still and strips lies bare until there’s nowhere left to hide. That’s what terrifies them. Because truth cannot be bought, silenced, bribed, or controlled. It doesn’t bend to power. It breaks it.

They tried to bury it under propaganda, drown it in noise, and rewrite it until people forgot what justice even looked like. But truth doesn’t die. It cuts through everything and shows the world what they don’t want you to see — that the man they taught you to hate is the one tearing their machine apart, while the ones they taught you to trust are the ones feeding it.

Truth isn’t beautiful because it’s gentle. It’s beautiful because it’s free. It rips the mask off corruption, calls betrayal by its name, and forces people to choose between comfort and courage. Once you see it — really see it — you can’t go back. The empire begins to crumble, and the reckoning becomes unstoppable.
They built an empire of shadows and called it order. He lit a match, and now the darkness trembles. They fear him because he’s not just fighting them. He’s ending them.

Here’s the bitter truth they choke on: 

After all the noise, the screaming, the hashtags, the protests, and the fake revolutions, he’s still standing. 

They can’t stop him. He is still the President of the Great USA. 🥳

California, tiểu bang “vàng” từng được ca tụng là hình mẫu dân chủ, giờ trở thành sân khấu cho king Newscum và đảng con lừa diễn lại một vở kịch cũ kỹ, đếm phiếu thần tốc khi có lợi, đếm chậm như rùa khi bất lợi.

Tối 11/4, các điểm bỏ phiếu vừa đóng, Prop 50 được công bố kết quả chỉ sau 3 phút. Nhưng những cuộc đua Hạ viện nơi GOP đang dẫn đầu thì sao? Kéo dài hơn cả tháng, đếm tới đâu lừa lội ngược tới đó, và dừng đúng lúc họ vừa thắng. Coincidence? Yeah, right. 😏

It wouldn’t have mattered anyway — vote yes, vote no, cái gì cũng pass, vì đó chỉ là một vở diễn được đạo diễn sẵn cho “king” và đám diễn viên phụ của hắn.

Prop 50 là một tu chính hiến pháp cho phép California Congress, aka politicians do đảng lừa kiểm soát, tự vẽ lại bản đồ quốc hội từ 2026 đến 2030, thay vì để Citizens Redistricting Commission (CRC) làm như từ 2008 tới nay.

CRC được tạo ra nhờ Prop 11, cải cách do Arnold Schwarzenegger khởi xướng để chấm dứt gerrymandering (vẽ bản đồ có lợi cho phe mình). Giờ Prop 50 trao quyền vẽ bản đồ về lại cho các chính trị gia ở Sacramento. Kết quả, lừa có thể giành thêm ít nhất 5 ghế Hạ viện liên bang, củng cố quyền lực cho “thành trì xanh.”

Để biện minh, king Newscum và BS media tung spin rằng “California phải vẽ lại bản đồ để đáp trả Texas.” Nghe oai nhỉ, but that’s bullsh!t. 

Texas bị buộc vẽ lại sau khi DOJ của Biden thua kiện ở tòa phúc thẩm 5th Circuit Court, vì vi phạm Voting Rights Act, chứ chẳng liên quan gì đến Trump. California chẳng “chống” ai cả, chỉ mượn cớ để hợp thức hóa gerrymandering ngược, xóa sổ vài ghế GOP và củng cố thế lực, power grabbing cho king Newscum.

Vào năm 2008, chính Thống Đốc Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Terminator, là người dẫn đầu cuộc cải cách Prop 11, lập nên CRC để dẹp trò vẽ bản đồ theo phe. Giờ Prop 50 đạp đổ công sức đó chỉ để king Newscum lấy lại quyền lực mà cử tri từng tước đi.

Từ 2018 tới nay, California luôn có cùng một pattern. GOP dẫn đêm bầu cử, rồi “blue shift” xảy ra khi các mail-in ballots (nhận đến 7 ngày sau) được đếm dần.

Ví dụ rõ nhất: cuộc bầu cử 2024, Michelle Steel (CA-45) dẫn hàng ngàn phiếu đêm đó, hai tuần sau Derek Tran (D) lật ngược và thắng đúng 314 phiếu.

3 phút để đếm phiếu toàn tiểu bang, gần 1 tháng để đếm 300K phiếu của district CA-45.  Trước đó, năm 2018 cũng y chang, hàng loạt ghế GOP biến mất sau khi đếm hết phiếu đến trễ.

Sau khi Prop 50 passed, GOP California nộp đơn kiện vì nó vi phạm hiến pháp tiểu bang, tước quyền của Citizens Redistricting Commission (CRC) và phản bội ý chí cử tri 2008. Vụ này có thể leo tới SCOTUS, nhưng dù kết quả thế nào thì bản chất vẫn vậy -

Một tiểu bang từng tự hào vì “minh bạch” giờ hợp pháp hoá việc cướp quyền vẽ bản đồ cho đảng cầm quyền.

Khi “dân chủ” trở thành công cụ hợp thức hoá độc quyền, thì đó kg còn là dân chủ nữa, chỉ là “cướp, rồi gọi đó là công lý,” như csBV cướp miền Nam rồi dùng từ hoa mỹ là “giải phóng.”
