I got this from my work. Just wanna share w yall :)

Cases of the flu are increasing and widespread this year. Symptoms include fever, chills, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches and fatigue. Hand-sanitizing stations are placed in common areas of our facilities, and janitorial staff conducts additional wipe downs of handrails and door knobs. We encourage you to take action in order to stay healthy and prevent further spread of the flu.

How to avoid the flu:
  • Get a flu vaccine.

  • While reports indicate the vaccine may not be as effective as anticipated this year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) still recommends an annual flu vaccine for everyone six months of age and older as the most important step in protecting against flu viruses.

  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.

  • Avoid touching your face.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth since germs can enter the body this way.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are ill.

  • Close contact is generally defined as within six feet.

  • Practice good cough etiquette.

  • Use a tissue to cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing. Discard tissues into the trash. Or, cough into your elbow.
If you have the flu:
  • The CDC guidance is that you stay home, except to get medical care or for other necessities, for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone, without the use of fever-reducing medications.

  • Consider consulting with a healthcare provider within 48 hours of the onset of flu-like symptoms to determine if antiviral drugs are recommended. Antiviral drugs may shorten the duration and / or decrease the severity of flu illness. It is recommended that people very sick with flu, or at high risk for serious flu complications, be treated with antiviral drugs as quickly as possible.

Clean and disinfect surfaces that may be contaminated with germs and avoid sharing personal items.
