Kidde Recalls Dual Sensor Smoke Alarms Due to Risk of Failure to Alert Consumers to a Fire

The cap can cover one of the smoke sensors and compromise its ability to work correctly, the CPSC said in a statement.

Name of product: Kidde dual-sensor (photoelectric and ionization) smoke alarms – models PI2010 and PI9010
The smoke alarms were sold online and at stores such as Lowe's and Home Depot from September 2016 to January 2018 for $20 to $40. Model numbers can be found on the back of the units.
Anyone who owns one of the alarms is asked to look through its side for a yellow cap. If it does, contact Kidde at 833-551-7739 for a replacement or visit their website.
The alarms are distributed by Walter Kidde Portable Equipment Company Inc. of Mebane, North Carolina.
