Who tops our Power Rankings as we look at how all 32 teams stack up as we get closer to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The last round of friendly matches in April saw a few big results from some of the biggest games, with some World Cup favourites enhancing their reputations and some taking a bit of a battering.
But who are the teams to beat now? Here's our latest Power Rankings for the World Cup with their latest odds,

1. Spain - 6/1
Things could only marginally have gone better for the 2010 World Cup winners after an entertaining draw against current champions Germany followed by an emphatic 6-1 thumping of Argentina - which was impressive even if Lionel Messi didn't play for the visitors. Blessed with oodles of talent, Spain may not be the betting favourites but you'd put them up against anyone right now.
2. Brazil 9/2
Wins over Russia and Germany were even more impressive given the absence of Neymar through injury. The forward talent in the squad is remarkable with or without Neymar - and they showed just why they finished 10 points clear in South American qualifying. They'll want to make amends for the way their own World Cup ended in humiliation four years ago and they've got the ammunition to do just that.
3. Germany 9/2
Joint favourites with Brazil in the betting and current World Cup holders, you just never write off the Germans even if they haven't got the obvious forward power of Spain and Brazil at their disposal. They're ranked number one by FIFA and although they're not in top spot here nobody would be surprised by another deep run in Russia.
4. Belgium 12/1
This truly is a golden generation for Belgian football with so many talented players in their squad. They've had just one run out against Saudi Arabia (4-0 win) but they'll play three times in the next international window. You wonder whether the pressure will get to them as it undoubtedly did in Euro 2016, plus whether their players really are as good as we think in the Premier League, and perhaps most importantly whether Roberto Martinez can produced the right tactics to get the best out of them..
5. France 11/2
Another squad jam-packed with talent and in great form in qualifying when winning seven out of ten games, but their remains the concern that this is a group of talented individuals and not a team fully together. Paul Pogba remains both their star man and their weak link if he's not played in the right position, while losing a 2-0 lead in the defeat against Colombia was another worrying signal.
6. Argentina 9/1
It's a bit tough to judge Argentina with Messi not featuring in either the win over Italy or the 6-1 debacle against Spain given his influence on this team. The fact that Paulo Dybala and Mauro Icardi can score 39 goals in 48 Serie A games between them and not get in the squad tells you everything about their strength up front. But it also tells you that Messi rules the roost as Dybala operates in the same position - there's also a lot of pressure on Messi to carry his team again and it remains to be seen how he shoulders that responsibility again.
7. Portugal 25/1

Cristiano Ronaldo is 20/1 to be the World Cup top scorer
Cristiano Ronaldo rescued his side with two injury time goals to beat Mohamed Salah's Egypt but couldn't help Portugal when they fell to a disappointing 3-0 defeat against what looked an ordinary Netherlands side against England. They won Euro 2016 on a tough defence and pinching the odd goal here and there and that'll again be their game plan in Russia. They'll always have a chance as long as Ronaldo's fit.

8. Uruguay 28/1
They have the look of being slightly overpriced for the World Cup given the firepower they have in Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani and a helpful looking group of Russia, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. They're still fierce in defence but have some talented youngsters like Federico Valverde and Rodrigo Bentancur adding more flair in midfield. After a deliberate handball in South Africa and another biting episode in Brazil, it'll be interesting to see how Suarez tops that this time around.
9. England 16/1
There's a lot to like about the way Gareth Southgate is going about his business, he seems to have a plan and is not afraid of using players he knows from the Under-21s. His three-man defence has kept clean sheets against Brazil, Germany and the Netherlands and only conceded against Italy thanks to VAR - we could see more of that at the World Cup.
10. Poland 50/1
Had a decent run at the Euros and unlucky to go out to Portugal on penalties. They've got a great work ethic and in their all-time top scorer Robert Lewandowski they have a live shot for the tournament's top scorer. He bagged 16 goals to fire Poland to the World Cup - a record for the European qualifying event.
11. Croatia 33/1
They lost 2-0 to Peru but beat Mexico 1-0 in recent friendly games, despite being under strength, and the quality within the squad means they'll always be respected.
12. Colombia 40/1
They produced a big upset when they came from 2-0 down to beat France 3-2 in Paris and with James Rodriguez and Radamel Falcao they have some big-name talent to call upon. Facing Poland, Senegal and Japan in their World Cup group won't worry them.
13. Switzerland 100/1
Belting England's group opponents Panama 6-0 was a great confidence boost for the Swiss, who lost on penalties against Poland in the Euros. They also beat Greece 1-0.
14. Denmark 80/1
The Danes finished behind Poland in qualifying and it's hard to get a handle on how good this side are after a 0-0 draw with Chile and 1-0 win over Panama. You suspect they'll be as good as Christian Eriksen is in Russia.
15. Egypt 200/1
Mohamed Salah has been banging in the goals for Liverpool
There'll be plenty of money coming from the Merseyside area on Mohamed Salah's Egypt getting out of their World Cup group that includes Uruguay, Saudi Arabia and Russia. With Salah still firing in the goals they at least have half a chance of making the last 16. They were unlucky not to beat European champions Portugal as Ronaldo struck twice in stoppage time.
16. Serbia 200/1
Aleksandar Mitrovic scored both goals to beat Nigeria, and if he can carry on his Fulham form they'll at least have to be respected.
17. Peru 250/1
Peru are in the World Cup for the first time since 1982 after defeating New Zealand in a play-off, and they've proven their worth with friendly victories over Croatia and Iceland. There could be some value here in them squeezing through a group containing Australia, Denmark and France.
18. Morocco 500/1
Thumped Nigeria to win the African Nations Championship and went unbeaten in World Cup qualifying - they've beaten Serbia and Uzbekistan in the last week.
19. Nigeria 250/1
Another unbeaten African team in qualifying, Nigeria managed to beat Poland in a recent friendly but also lost against Serbia.
20. Mexico 100/1
A 3-0 win over Iceland looked impressive, but losing to under-strength Croatia showed how Meico are a big question mark heading into the tournament.
21. Senegal 200/1
Sadio Mane headlines this third unbeaten side during qualifying, but unconvincing draws with Bosnia and Uzbekistan recently hardly inspire confidence.
22. Sweden 100/1
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has moved to LA but will he make a Hollywood comeback?
They have the talent to be a lot higher up this list but defeats against Chile and Romania are hardly promising results - they'd be even lower had they not beat Italy in the qualifying play-offs. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has hinted at a comeback for the World Cup - it remains to be seen if that's a good or bad thing for the team.
23. Russia 40/1
Ranked 63rd by Fifa and soundly beaten by both Russia and France last week with even manager Stanislav Cherchesov admitting he had a lot to do to make them competitive. They get the benefit of the doubt that they'll get a boost out of being hosts.
24. Iceland 250/1
The fairytale story from the Euros continued as they qualified for the World Cup but their form since has been woeful, losing to the likes of Czech republic, Mexico and Peru. Badly in need of a fit Gylfi Sigurdsson to stand any chance of getting out of the group.
25. Tunisia 750/1
One-nil wins against Iran and Costa Rica are not ground breaking results but at least they're winning. The face England in their World Cup opener and are unbeaten in their last seven games.
26. Costa Rica 500/1
As detailed above they lost to Tunisia, but did manage to spoil Alex McLeish's return as Scotland manager with a win at Hampden.
27. South Korea 500/1
Usually present a decent challenge in major tournaments and in Tottenham's Son Heung-min have one of the best players in the Premier League this season. Losing to Poland and Northern Ireland is not the best form though.
28. Panama 2000/1
Battered by Switzerland and lost in Denmark, but they drew with Wales recently and could be a bit better than many people expect.
29. Japan 200/1
Suffering a 4-1 defeat against South Korea in December was bad enough, but another loss to Ukraine and a draw against Mali mean things look bleak for Japan.
30. Australia 750/1
They'll need more than ball tampering to help them in the World Cup on the back of a 4-1 defeat by Norway - they were hardly convincing when squeezing through a play-off with Syria just to make the finals.
31. Iran 500/1
There won't be much for Iran to shout about in Russia - they have beaten Algeria recently for what it's worth.
32. Saudi Arabia 2000/1
There's no real disgrace in being beaten 4-0 by Belgium, or drawing 1-1 with Ukraine really – they have though lost to Iraq and Oman recently.
