Administration officials said the package would cut about $7 billion from the Children's Health Insurance Program, or CHIP, which was previously authorized but unused, as well as about $800 million from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation program created by the Affordable Care Act, the healthcare law better known as Obamacare.

White House officials said the reductions would not have an impact on the program, which has an enrollment of roughly 9 million.
