Hi Tea, last time I was there about 5 years ago.  I only saw American food restaurants and a few chinese, of course 

I got lost in some rocky hills.  Was planning to sleep in my car to shoot the sunrise because I heard it's beautiful. didn't do it because it was too cold.  The sunset was spectacular though.  Red as blood.

For the famous lakes that you saw in the brochures or websites you would have to hike up the mountain.  I think you'd need to check in with the rangers and get a permit before you can do it as the weather is unpredictable up there.  I don't think you should do it alone, Tea.

If you get to Bishop you should check out Manzanar.  It's a sad site to visit but you should if you like history, especially since you're Asian.  If Trump has his way we Asians might end up in there again.  Maybe not 

As for lake Mono...it's beautiful but you need a good camera... I don't think a phone can do it justice.

Forget the lakes and go to Mammoth area and hike to the Rainbow Falls or see the devil postpile instead.
