How to check for facts, bias, and fake news

Dường như trang bên dưới tóm lược tương đối đầy đủ kim-chỉ-nam về cách chứng "thực" tin "giả".


Sẵn đây mình có góp ý luôn khi đọc moderator của diễn đàn VB sử dụng chữ "misinformation" trong mấy bài hôm nay mình có đọc.  Mình có cảm giác trong diễn đàn này có nhiều thành viên áp dụng "disinformation" chứ không phải là "misinformation". 

Disinformation là danh từ chỉ sự cố tình sửa sai và phát tán tin tức sai lạc. Còn misinformation là sự ngu muội nhất thời mà chia sẻ tin tức không có thật. Đối với "misinformation" có thể nương tay, nhưng đối với "disinformation" (tạm gọi là "lộng giả thành chân") thì nên có giải pháp rạch ròi, thẳng thắn và dứt khoát.

Trở lại với sự phân biệt thị-phi khi bạn không có thời gian đọc báo, theo dõi tin tức hằng ngày. Trong thời đại rốt ráo ngày nay, bận lo mưu sinh, rất nhiều người không có thời gian đọc hoặc nghe tin tức hằng ngày nên dễ dàng bị mất cảm giác với nội dung tin tức nào là giả, tin nào là thật. Cũng may mắn là có các hội đoàn, tổ chức, trang mạng cố gắng giúp đỡ đại chúng gạn lọc lại các tin theo sự kiểm chứng của họ.

Sau cùng thì việc tin hay không vẫn còn là sự quyết định của chính mình. Nhưng ít ra những trang bên dưới sẽ giúp chúng ta có một sự lựa chọn tin tưởng hoàn chỉnh hơn. Tôi hoan nghênh và cám ơn những  bạn nào có thêm các địa chỉ (URL) các trang thông tấn xã lớn, trang báo lớn có chuyên mục "check fact" thì xin ghi vào mạch này.

Điều quan trọng là làm sao mình kiểm được tin tức thật hay giã khi họ chỉ cho mình biết nửa sự thật?   Hì hì…hì hì.

 Họ là ai? Là những trang 5 sao lại bên trên chăng?

 Cách tốt nhất là thận trọng. Không nhẹ dạ cả tin. Có thời gian thì kiểm chứng lại. Nhiều nguồn tin. Đừng để cảm tính che phủ lý trí. Ví dụ như yêu ông chính trị gia này quá, mến bà thể tháo gia kia quá, thương ông sư bà sải, ông linh mục đó quá, rồi họ phát ngôn gì cũng cho là thật. Phải tự tin luôn cả bản thân và trình độ, kiến thức của mình. Quan trọng nhất là chưa kiểm chứng kỹ càng thì đừng vội chia sẻ, phát tán.

 Nếu đã chia sẻ, phát tán, loan tin, thì nên để nguồn URL. Những động từ như st, sưu tầm, sưu tập, lượm, nhặt  không minh bạch được điều gì cả. Mất công độc giả lại phải tự đi tìm nguồn tin để đọc lại.
